Abstract (english) This paper analyses some parts of agricultural production which are crucial for the functioning of sustainable farming. The first step to production is finding a convenient geographic position and climate characteristics, as well as the distance to the market. After choosing the location, some preparatory work should be done, such as digging a water tank, leveling the field, setting up a water supply system, setting up a greenhouse, and arranging pathways, roads and farm buildings. Planning these things makes the future job easier because it reduces the loss of time in daily jobs. In this paper soil is marked as the key factor for a successful organic production because healthy and vital soil produces healthy crops. There are four principles of organic production, which are principle of health, principle of ecology, principle of fairness and principle of care. Crop quality and yield depend on the conditions of soil, its physical, biological and chemical characteristics, and the microbiological activity in soil. Wild plants that grow on agricultural surfaces, and have no economic or functional purpose of use, are called weeds, which sometimes cause damage. But weeds should not always be perceived negatively, because they can tell us a lot about the soil they are on, which is valuable data on how to control weeds. In the natural ecosystem pests and diseases have a specific role in attacking the weak spots and providing space for the species better adapted to a specific area. Stability is achieved with balance, where pests and diseases are controlled by some other organisms therefore this principle seeks to apply in modern organic production of plant species.
